Conversation Communities
Let’s bring on the banter.
What is this program about?
The Conversation Communities (CC) Program supports youth leaders in establishing discussion groups and organizing events about body image topics on their school campuses.
This is a yearlong program for high school and college students (ages 15-25, or year 10/Form 3 up to the final year of university for HK students).
When can I apply for this program?
Students can apply to this program anytime during the year. If accepted into the program, student leaders attend an orientation session before working closely with the Body Banter team to establish their group on campus.
What is expected of CC leaders?
Student leaders are expected to conduct a minimum of two discussion groups every month, as well as a minimum of three school events during the year.
During the program, Conversation Community leaders have access to…
1:1 monthly check-in calls with Body Banter staff and volunteers to discuss upcoming plans for school discussions and events
An online community (using the Discord platform) of other student leaders involved in the program, with the goal of facilitating supportive and constructive conversation on best practices when starting body image discussions in school settings.
Access to the Body Banter network of experts and professionals in the field of psychology and related fields to support brainstorming of initiatives in school settings.
Access to webinar events and guidance resources developed exclusively for students involved in our programming which offers ideas on how young people can create more inclusive spaces for open conversation in their communities.
